Six years on. And so much has happened, so much has changed. The garden for example has gone from nil to overflowing!

All the same - plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose. I miss you. Pressing on -

A sunrise, a memory and a song on the radio that somehow says all the right words

Five Years On

Never forgotten. Always remembered. Today and All Days.

Just know that these things will never change for us at all

This Year's Roses

Clearly, I will never win a prize for photography but, who knows, I may one day win a prize for a rose...

(But then again, it is of course a wonderful year for them...)

Whatever. Just joyful in the garden today.

I have been driving all day. What a beautiful day - the sun slanting sideways through the bare winter trees making the countryside glow like gold. In such silent vivid moments I always find joy.
 It breaks my heart silently still, and I guess it always will, that I cannot ever drive to find you again. Still, from another angle, this fact is but another jewel in my life baggage! I have many more jewels from the time I knew you. Most important of all, I have the gift you gave me, of being myself.
And so today, when I cannot give you a 50th birthday gift, I can still remember joyfully and be thankful for the time we had...
